The Farr 30, Menace, owned and helmed by William Daffron, finished 2nd at the 2019 Cal Race Week in the PHRF B division.  3 Big Dogs and Namaste also competed in the event with 3 Big Dogs grabbing 8th place in a highly competitive J/70 field.  Check out full results online .

The race was pretty normal for the N2E.  Wind at the start was southwesterly, so close reach, getting lifted as the afternoon goes on.  We set a chute late in the afternoon and kept it up through the finish, although peeled to the ¾-oz in the morning as the wind picked up.  We did about five total jibes. 3 Big Dogs and Namaste, (both SBYC J/70's), made the trek down to San Diego for the 2019 SDYC Helly Hanson NOOD regatta.  3 Big Dogs, helmed by Pat Toole, narrowly missed the podium in the Corinthian division after a tight finish to the regatta.  Congratulations to both of them!  Full Results are online at  [...]

Team Cardremmian pulled their Harbor 20 out of the water and towed it down to Newport Harbor for the Harbor 20 Class Championship.  The only boat from Santa Barbara to make the haul, Geoff Slaff and Rich Miller finished 4th overall in the silver fleet out of 15 racing in the somewhat tricky Newport Harbor.  Awesome finish and stoked they made the trek down! Uncle Bob traveled to Long Beach for the Schock 35 Midwinters.  Four local Long beach boats, plus us and a boat from Oceanside.  Racing outside the breakwater, winds from about 16 – 24 with some nice/nasty chop.  Uncle Bob showed good speed, leading everyone but Long Beach local Code Blue in the first two races.  Third race was very close, with Uncle bob taking the win [...]

50 teams of at least four sailors attended this past weekend's Gaucho Regatta.  It was a great success even for hometown heroes Santa Barbarba High School who finished 5th overall and 3rd place school.  Dos Pueblos finished 7th overall and was the 5th best finishing school.   Thank you again to all the competitors, parents, coaches, and volunteers who made [...]
