2024 Spring Dinghy Regatta

The 2024 Santa Barbara Spring Dinghy Regatta will be host to C420's, 29er’s, I-14’s, 505's, ILCA Standard, ILCA Radial, and ILCA 4.  It will be Ullman-Frost #4 and Hamlin #4 for SCYYRA.  Please select the links below for information regarding the event. For visiting boats, Santa Barbara’s central California location provides easy access from anywhere between San Diego and San Francisco. Trailer storage and dockage will be available for the event. SANTA BARBARA CHANNEL Santa Barbara Channel offers 50 miles of unparalleled scenery. It is bordered by the Channel Islands National Park to the south and the ‘American riviera’ to the north.

The city of Santa Barbara is one of Southern California’s top family vacation destinations, and offers a wide range of options for racers and their ‘shore crew’. SANTA BARBARA YACHT CLUB One of the oldest clubs on the west coast, Santa Barbara Yacht Club has served racing sailors since 1872. Its current location overlooks the mountains, beaches, and harbor of Santa Barbara. The club supports a wide range of one design, dinghy, and rating rule classes for all ages. The members welcome all regatta participants to enjoy SBYC, the city, and the excellent sailing conditions of Santa Barbara.

Friday, May 17

1200 Competitor briefing will be sent out via pre-recorded video. Questions about the briefing or related to the regatta may be submitted via text, or email to: Brad Schaupeter – [email protected] / (310) 850-5213. Answers to questions may be shared with all registrants via email as appropriate.

Saturday, May 18

Logistics

Lodging

There are several hotels on Cabrillo Blvd.within walking distance of the regatta site. Early reservations are usually necessary. More affordable options are also available in Santa Barbara or Goleta within a 15 minute drive. SBYC recommends that hotel reservations be made as far in advance as possible. Parking

Parking is restricted to certain areas. The link above is a map that shows where you can park your trailers, boats, and cars. Please keep the roadways clear as other launch ramp visitors and the harbor patrol may be coming through at several points. Additionally, please only launch using the middle and east most ramp.  Support boats may dock at the SBYC End Tie D overnight free of charge.  There is limited dock space and it is first come first serve.
