2019 KiteFoil US National Championship
Santa Barbara Yacht Club is pleased to host the 2019 Kite Foil US National Championship in beautiful Santa Barbara, California on August 16-18. There will be two fleets - KiteFoil Open Fleet which will include Formula Kite and an Inflatable Tube Kite Open Fleet.

SANTA BARBARA CHANNEL
Santa Barbara Channel offers 50 miles of unparalleled scenery. It is bordered by the Channel Islands National Park to the south and the ‘American riviera’ to the north. In August, the venue typically provides a sea breeze of 12-18 knots from the WSW, but has a variety of wind conditions and average temperatures of 77 degrees.
The city of Santa Barbara is one of Southern California’s top family vacation destinations, and offers a wide range of options for racers and their ‘shore crew’.
SANTA BARBARA YACHT CLUB
One of the oldest clubs on the west coast, Santa Barbara Yacht Club has served racing sailors since 1872. Its current location overlooks the mountains, beaches, and harbor of Santa Barbara. The club supports a wide range of one design, dinghy, and rating rule classes for all ages. The members welcome all regatta participants to enjoy SBYC, the city, and the excellent sailing conditions of Santa Barbara.

Vehicle Parking for Competitors, spectators, and guests
There will be parking available for competitors - approximately 15 spots will be available in the SBYC and 20 spots will be reserved in the middle row of the harbor parking lot as shown in 'Attachment A - On Shore Staging'. Parking passes for these spots will be available at the front desk of SBYC and may be picked up starting Thursdsay, August 15th at 900 am. Competitors are strongly encouraged to carpool to minimize parking impact. No spectators or competitor guest cars will be permitted in competitor spots, however they may park in any of the public harbor lots (fees apply).
Lodging
There are several hotels on Cabrillo Boulevard within walking distance of the regatta site. Other more affordable options are also available in Carpinteria, Santa Barbara, or Goleta within a 15 minute drive. Visit: https://santabarbaraca.com/places-to-stay/ for a list of area hotels. PROVIDED HOUSING
There will be limited housing available on boats in the Santa Barbara harbor. Those needing housing may request it officially during the registration process. Paid entrants will receive priority on a first come-first serve basis. Competitors wishing to take advantage of the free housing should bring sheets, pillows and/or a sleeping bag.
Yacht Club Facilities
The Yacht Club facilities will be open to all competitors. No-host competitor breakfast will be available each day of the regatta starting at 10:00am. The Yacht Club only accepts credit card charges for visitors.
Marina Gate Entry
The Marina One entrance is located between SBYC and the breakwater. Marina One gate cards may be purchased from the harbor department for $8 (located next to SBYC).
Restrooms / Showers
The Yacht Club restrooms & showers are available during regular operating hours or with a SBYC parking lot gate card after hours. The Marina restrooms are accessible with a marina gate card. Public restrooms are also available adjacent to the harbor public parking lot near the launch ramp. Most of the Marina restroom facilities have showers.
On Shore Regatta headquarters / Protest Room
The On Shore Regatta Headquarters will be located on the beach adjacent to the launch area as shown in Attachment A - On Shore Staging. Protest Room will be located at SBYC downstairs in the ‘Fleet Room’.

Saturday, August 17
1000-1100 - No host breakfast served at SBYC Dining Room
1130 - Competitor meeting at Regatta HQ
1300 - First warning signal
Three sets of three races scheduled (9 total races)
Following the last race, there will be a 'Big Air' competition in front of the club.
After Racing - Hors d’oeuvres and refreshments at SBYC
Sunday, August 18
1000-1100 - No host breakfast served at SBYC Dining Room
1130 - Competitor meeting at Regatta HQ
1300 - First warning signal
Two sets of three races scheduled (6 total races)
Following the last race, there will be a 'Big Air' competition in front of the club.
1600 - No warning signal after this time
1700 - Hors d’oeuvres and awards at SBYC Upper Deck
